23-27 May 2023 -  Aerospace Innovation Centre (AIC), Universiti Malaya members, Dr Siti Nurmaya and Dr Azni Zarina attended this year's edition of Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition (LIMA 2023). The event provided the opportunity for AIC to network with agencies and international companies involved in the aerospace industry.

This 16th edition of LIMA was held at the Mahsuri International Exhibition Centre (MIEC) and Resort World Langkawi (RWL) respectively from 23rd May until 27th May 2023. Over 600 exhibitors had participated in the event comprising of 30 nations companies from Defence/Security and Commercial sectors. Apart from exhibitions, forums and conferences, LIMA 2023 has also organized various activities such as drone races, flight simulators, technology talks and career fairs for visitors and enthusiasts of the maritime industry and aerospace technology. 

The event also witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Industry-Government Group for High Technology (MIGHT)  with Turkish Aerospace (TUSAS) to hold a Talent Development Programme between the Consortium of Universiti Malaysia (CMU), TUSAS Malaysia and TUSAS Akademi. The Higher Education Minister, Datuk Seri Mohamed Khalid Nordin, in his speech, said: “The aerospace industry is one of the most challenging and exciting fields in the world. With its highly innovative, ground-breaking research, and rapid growth, the industry constantly requires a highly skilled and talented workforce to fuel its success.
